Taking the Fright Out of Accessible Course Design
Oct 31, 11-12:30 MLIB 002

Are you familiar with Universal Design? Are you relying on color to convey important information? Can a screen reader recognize your PDFs? Are your videos captioned for the hard of hearing? Is your course accessible to ALL students?

…Are these questions making you squeamish?

If so, we invite you to a special Halloween Accessibility workshop sponsored by the Technology and Learning Program & the Accessibility Resource Center on Friday, October 31 from 11:00-12:30 in MLIB 002.  Candy provided.

Workshop Objectives
  • Locate and use the accessible syllabus template for your courses.
  • Create accessible PDFs for upload to your course.
  • Design your course with accessibility in mind using concepts for Universal Design.
  • Prioritize captioning when choosing video resources.

All participants are welcome. If you need disability related accommodations please call Jeremy Olguin at 530-898-4863 or send an email to jdolguin@csuchico.edu.

  1. While I cannot attend your event the topic of website accessibility is certainly of interest to me (I’m color-blind) as I sometime have trouble distinguishing text from the background. It would be helpful if someone could direct me to a good resource so that I can make my website more accessible to all.

    Thank You!
